Bob Palmisano has significant experience leading public and private medical device companies. Bob joined SV as a Venture Partner in November 2007.
In addition to his work at SV, Bob serves as CEO of Wright Medical (WMGI), a position he first assumed in 2011.
In April 2008, Bob became CEO of EV3 (‘EVVV’). He held that position until July 2010, when the company was acquired by Coviden plc. Bob was formerly President, Chief Executive Officer and a director of IntraLase Corp. from April 2003 to May 2007. From April 2001 to April 2003, he was the President, Chief Executive Officer and a director of MacroChem Corporation, a development stage pharmaceutical corporation.
From April 1997 to January 2001, he served as President and Chief Executive Officer and a Director of Summit Autonomous, Inc., a global medical products company that was acquired by Alcon, Inc. in October 2000. Prior to 1997, he held various executive positions with Bausch & Lomb Incorporated, a global eye care company. He served on the board of directors of Bausch & Lomb, a privately-held company, and ev3 Inc., Osteotech, Inc., and Abbott Medical Optics, Inc., all public companies.
