Celina joined the DDF team as Entrepreneur-in-Residence in June 2017. With 17 years of academic and pharma working experience in dementia diseases, she is responsible for spearheading projects within the membrane biology and apoE space in the DDF portfolio.
Prior to joining DDF, Celina was Vice-President of Neurobiology at Evotec AG, where she was responsible for the scientific and operational oversight of a broad drug discovery alliance on Huntington’s disease with the CHDI Foundation. Prior to Evotec, Celina gained extensive drug discovery experience at Merck Neuroscience, leading multiple preclinical drug discovery programs on Alzheimer’s disease.
Celina completed her postdoctoral training at Washington University School of Medicine and received her PhD, MS and BS degrees from the University of São Paulo.
Outside of SV
In 2016, Celina was selected to develop her NewCo idea at the Entrepreneurial Innovation Boot Camp organized by Johnson & Johnson Innovation JLINX, Janssen and Bioqube Ventures. On her free time, Celina enjoys traveling, snorkeling, bike riding and yoga.
