George Hunnewell

Venture Partner

George joined SV Health Investors as a Venture Partner in 2018.

Prior experience
During George’s 30-year career he has worked at pre-revenue startups, mid-sized high-growth companies, and held leadership positions at large public companies. He was the Chief Operating Officer of Cogstate, a publicly traded specialty Contract Research Organization and spent 15 years at Parexel International (a publicly traded global contract research organization) rising to the level of corporate vice president and executive committee member. During these years, he held a variety of global roles and P&L positions including as a co-founder and leader of the Parexel Informatics technology division and as the founder of Parexel’s Platform Solutions business unit. Previously, he was the global head of Mergers & Acquisitions for Parexel overseeing acquisitions in the US, Europe and Asia.

George has also been on the management team, or consultant to, several early stage companies including Bunsen Rush Laboratories, a high throughput screening company (sold to Arena Pharmaceuticals), and QuantiaMD, a physician communication and education business (sold to Physicians Interactive) and Plexuus, Inc. a physician payment platform (sold to OptimizeRx).

Academic credentials
He received his MBA from the MIT Sloan School of Management and his Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Harvard University.

Outside of SV
George is usually found with his family on a sailboat in the summer months and on skis in the winter months.
