MADISON, Wis. – The College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME) has named Bruce Cerullo, Nordic’s Chairman of the Board, a CHIME Healthcare Hero for outstanding service during the COVID-19 pandemic. The honor is given to a member of CHIME or a CHIME foundation firm based on a nomination from a peer.
Cerullo is recognized for his vital work as fundraising chair of CHIME’s Opioid Task Force, www.opioidactioncenter.com, a volunteer task force dedicated to the prevention and treatment of opioid abuse via educational resources and public policy workgroups. During COVID-19, the United States has seen an accelerated rise in drug use and opioid overdoses due in part to mental health funding cuts as well as reduced access to healthcare and recovery support services. Nordic, along with Cerullo, is dedicated to leveraging its expertise and resources to combat this accelerating crisis.
“The rise of opioid abuse during COVID-19 has taken a terrible toll on so many in this country,” says Cerullo. “I’m proud and honored to be part of an organization that’s harnessing CHIME’s strengths during such a challenging time. We have more work to do, but it’s heartening to know that what we’re doing is making a true difference in the communities we serve.”

Cerullo served as Nordic’s Chairman and CEO from November 2015 to July 2019 and continues as Chairman of the Board.
