Huiyuan joined SV in April 2022 and is a Senior Associate in the Dementia Discovery Fund team, to help form and fund companies developing transformational new medicines for dementia.
Huiyuan carries out due diligence of new deals, and provides strategic, BD, and operational support to existing companies in DDF portfolio supporting them in bringing drugs from discovery to market.
Prior to joining DDF, Huiyuan was a Fellow at 5AM Ventures, assisting in venture creation and investment in early-stage biotech companies. She also worked as a Business Development Fellow in the Harvard Office of Technology Development (OTD). During her PhD, Huiyuan conducted research on neuroinflammation, autoimmune diseases and immuno-oncology in the laboratory of Dr. Vijay Kuchroo at the Ann Romney Center for Neurologic Diseases at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Harvard Medical School. Her research has resulted in multiple publications in Nature, Cell, Immunity, Cell Reports, among others, as well as a patent application.
Outside of SV, Huiyuan enjoys road trips, gardening and Vipassana meditation.
