Ross is an experienced biopharmaceutical executive and neuroscience leader with international experience across biotechnology and global biopharma, recognized for building high-performing R&D organizations, shaping portfolio strategy, and advancing innovative therapeutics for serious neurological and immunological diseases. His leadership spans discovery, translational research, and clinical development, with deep expertise in neurology, neurodegeneration, neuropsychiatry, immunology, and CNS disorders.
Ross earned his PhD in neuroscience from University College London and began his industry career at NeuroSolutions, where he helped scale the company’s research capabilities, advanced CNS drug discovery programs, and was appointed Chief Executive Officer in 2012. He subsequently held senior research leadership roles at Lundbeck and Servier, including Global Head of Neurology and Immunoinflammation, where he led integrated global teams of clinicians and scientists, progressing and strengthening differentiated therapeutic pipelines.
Ross joined Biogen in spring 2025 and is based in Cambridge, Massachusetts, where he serves as Senior Vice President and Head of Neurology Research. In this role, Ross leads the company’s efforts to translate breakthrough science into transformative medicines for people living with neurological diseases, including advancing Alzheimer’s disease innovation by relentlessly following the science and targeting key drivers of the disease.
