Tom Policelli

Tom joined SV as Entrepreneur in Residence in 2019 and is CEO of Health Payment Systems, an SV Fund 7 portfolio company.

As healthcare risk is shifting more to providers and consumers, Tom is concentrating on businesses that better measure and manage that risk to lower overall costs.

Previously, Tom was a co-founder and CEO of Minuteman Health, an HMO in Massachusetts and New Hampshire, from 2013-2017. Prior to that, he was co-founder and CEO of Averde Health. He also ran United Health Group’s consumer-directed health business and founded a new business unit within the company. Tom began his career at CIGNA Healthcare, and while at Monitor Company consulted to several leading healthcare companies.

Outside of SV, Tom is an active fundraiser for numerous non-profits, and chairs the finance council of his church. He mentors young entrepreneurs and enjoys helping them turn ideas into revenue. Tom and his wife live in Connecticut and have four children. He continues to attempt to row his scull when time permits, and he is painstakingly improving his tailgating skills at his kids’ sporting events.
